Service Interuption Jan 25, 2026

Due to the winter storm forecasted for Sunday, January 25, there will be a temporary interruption to scheduled waste and cardboard collection services.

According to the National Weather Service, the Staten Island area is expected to experience significant snowfall, strong winds, and hazardous road conditions beginning Sunday afternoon and continuing into the overnight hours. For the safety of our drivers, helpers, and the public, there will be no garbage or cardboard collection on Sunday night, January 25.

What This Means for Your Service

  • All customers normally scheduled for Sunday night service will be serviced on their next regularly scheduled collection day, if not sooner.
  • If conditions improve and we are able to safely resume service earlier, we will do so where possible.

After the Storm – How You Can Help Ensure Service

To allow us to safely access your location and collect your waste as soon as conditions permit, please ensure the following once the storm has passed:

  • Shovel and clear snow from around dumpsters, compactors, and container enclosures
  • Salt or sand icy areas, including approaches, gates, and loading areas
  • Ensure container lids, doors, and gates can open freely
  • Keep access paths clear of snow piles and parked vehicles

These steps are critical to protecting our collection teams and preventing service delays.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize safety during severe weather conditions. If you have any questions or need to discuss your service, please contact our office at 718-448-3000.

Thank you for your continued business and support.
